St Lucia photography invasion

The Photographic Society of South Africa’s national congress is in Zululand

THE Who’s Who of the professional photography industry is descending on St Lucia this week for the Photographic Society of South Africa’s national congress.

Apart from the society’s Annual General Meeting and Board meetings, the week-long congress, which finishes on Friday, features 17 presentations by professionals.

Zululand photographer, Mtunzini-based photojournalist Anita de Villiers, has been invited to present a talk on wildlife and nature photography in Zululand.

President of the Beachcombers Photography Club, Hendrick Louw will also talk on macro photography at the congress.

Some of the other topics that will be covered include aerial photography (Steve McCurrach), photographing the stars (Hougaard Malan), expressive portraiture (Willem Oets), creative lighting (Deon Harris), monochrome (Johann van der Walt), composition in the arts (Hein Wascheerfort), ‘photography is for the birds’ (Barrie Wilkins), portrait and figure study (Laetitia Kenny) and Ballito’s Benine du Toit who will present a Travelogue AV.
