Hospice is aimed at promoting quality in life, dignity and support in bereavement for all people living with life-threatening illness as well as support and compassion for their families.
The aims of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day this year focus on ‘Dispelling the Myths’ by sharing the vision to increase the availability of hospice and palliative care throughout the world through creating opportunities to speak out about the issues and raise awareness and understanding of the medical, social, practical and spiritual needs of people living with a life limiting illness.
