
WITH the festive season fully upon us, the last thing we need is another expense. Zululanders had better tighten their belts. At midnight on Tuesday, 3 December the price of petrol and diesel will increase.
The price of both grades of petrol will increase by 17 cents a litre and diesel by 10.12 cents a litre, the energy department said on Friday.
Paraffin will also increase by 16.50 cents a litre and the single maximum national retail price would increase by 22 cents a litre for illuminating paraffin.
The maximum retail price for LP Gas will increase by 18 cents a kilogram.
‘The fuel price changes include the annual margins adjustment, changes in the Basic Fuel Price and the decrease in the slate levy.
The annual adjustment to the petrol margins had increased and this had affected the petrol price, said department.
This comes just short of a month ago when the price of petrol and diesel dropped by 28 cents and 15 cents respectively.
