PASTORS from Richards Bay and Empangeni recently attended a breakfast meeting in preparation of the Easter Passion march to take place on 18 April.
The initiative by Pastors Kevin and Nisha Naidoo is aimed at raising awareness for the commemoration of Good Friday and why Christians observe the day as an important part of their faith.
The event will see a host of believers, joining in a march at Empangeni starting at 1 Pearce Crescent, Old Mutual Building at 12 noon.
The procession is expected to continue through the main streets of Empangeni CBD; finishing off at the original starting point.
Meals and live praise and worship from participating churches will be offered to participants.
‘The march will be made up of believers who will wear colourful attire carrying banners and floats, singing songs of Praise and a drama skit which will highlight biblical scenes that Jesus Christ experienced on Good Friday,’ said Pastor Kevin Naidoo.
‘Last year the march brought approximately 200 believers together and this year we are looking at doubling that,’
‘Vinesh Chinasamy of ICE Ambulance and Medical Service will provide medical assistance for the march and EMRS Disaster Manager Kevin Sukreben also present, will provide assistance to this event, said Naidoo.
