THE Department of Transport is favourably considering a request to raise the speed limit on the John Ross Parkway from 80km/h to 100km/h.
This was announced this morning at the meeting of the John Ross Parkway Project Liaison Committee.
Brian Henwood of lead consultants, Henwood & Nxumalo confirmed that the section from the N2 at Empangeni to East Central Arterial would be subject to the higher speed limit.
No time frame has been given but Henwood said since construction of that section of highway had already been completed, the decision is likely to be made soon.
