Sad passing of Metro Chief Fire Officer
Chief Fire Officer, Thokozani Dlamini mourned.
IT is with sadness and regret that Rural Metro face the loss of Chief Fire Officer for the Uthungulu District, Chief Thokozani Dlamini.
He passed away on the Monday in the Ngwelezane Hospital after a short illness.
Chief Dlamini joined Rural Metro Emergency Management Services in February 2012 as the Chief Fire Officer for the Uthungulu District.
Chief Dlamini had the key responsibility of managing the delivery of fire services within six local Municipalities within this District and was also key in interacting with Communities and their representatives within the Local Municipalities according to Chief Fire Officer and General Manager: Fire and Rescue Operations Rassie Erasmus.
‘Chief Dlamini proved to be a committed and loyal employee and was a true professional when it came to firefighting, always putting his job first.
‘He was also involved in a number of community activities, especially religious activities and football events,” said Erasmus.
‘Chief Dlamini will always be remembered for his humility and desire to see the good in everyone that he came into contact with.
‘Our sympathy and thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time and hope they will receive the support and assistance they need to get through this painful period.’
