After the auction, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife CEO, Dr Bendile Mkhize confirmed that the records broken at the auction were not provincial or national records for specific species, but record prices in the 25 year history of the Natal Parks Board / Ezemvelo Game Auctions.
Speaking before the auction he said that 360 000 animals had been sold and R270 million raised.
With the 25th auction now completed the figure stands at 361 500 animals and R286.6 million.

A white rhino and her calf sold for R570 000. Last year a rhino was sold for R240 000 less.

A NYALA bull went under the hammer today at the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife game auction at Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom.
It was sold for a record R40 000.
A new KwaZulu-Natal record was set when a nyala ewe was auctioned for R23 000.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife CEO Bandile Mkhize announced the international rhino youth summit will be held at Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park on World Rhino Day on 22 September.
