A LATE Christmas present arrived in Mtunzini in the form of a female zebra foal.
The new addition to the Zini community is doing remarkably well.
This is the second addition to the zebra family following the birth of Zini, a male foal, last year and the community has welcomed the gift.
Comments on social media are flooding in with photos of the happy family enjoying the tranquil settings of the conservancy.
Mtunzini resident Des Groenewald posted, ‘That is why I love my town’, with Nozipho Mdletshe adding ‘Zebbie, she’s so cute’.
A tourist to the area, Joyce Clark, said it was delightful to see the beautiful creatures roaming about the town. With over 269 likes on facebook, the Zini zebra family are just as much a part of the town as the residents.
So next time you are in Mtunzini watch out for zebra crossing, literally, as the happy family are often seen grazing on the golf course, resting outside homes on pavements or round the fire or in the bar at Nature’s Way Backpackers.
