Road restrictions on N2 highway

The highway between the King Shaka International Airport interchange and the Umdloti interchange will be reduced to one lane only in both directions.

THE South African National Roads Agency (SOC) Limited (SANRAL) has alerted commuters travelling on the N2 between the King Shaka International Airport interchange and the Umdloti interchange that the carriageway will be reduced to one lane only in both directions.

The restrictions started today (Wednesday) and will continue until 9am on Tuesday, 14 April.

The lanes will be closed for six days and nights.

The restriction is necessary to prevent traffic using the old bridge while the new bridge is joined to it – part of the upgrade of the N2 between the Umdloti interchange and the Tongaat Toll Plaza.

Road users are advised to consider alternative routes, either the M4 or R102 during this period.
