UPDATE: Dover High pupils back in class

Classes resume at Dover High School after turmoil earlier this week.

PUPILS are back in class at Dover High after Monday’s violent protest in which angry pupils demanded that the school principal must step down.

Pupils torched two school water tanks and tried to smash teachers’ car windows.

Empangeni SAPS spokesperson Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose confirmed that a case of malicious damage to property had been opened, but said no one had been arrested as yet.

‘Investigations into the matter is ongoing,’ Mdlalose said.

The school principal could not be reached for comment at the time of going to print.
