Multi-tasker Juriana sets the benchmark
Empangeni resident Juriana Filmalter is a 'Jane' of all trades.
A WOMAN of multiple talents and a ‘Jane’ of all trades, Juriana Filmalter is a shining example of a woman willing to go far beyond the call of duty.
Whether it’s decorating the hall for a matric dance, solving pupil propblems or clocking in many kilometres for LifeLine Zululand, everything is done simply with love and care as motivation.
After years of dedication to both her work and LifeLine Zululand, the Grantleigh Schools Head of Operations and former LifeLine Zululand Chairperson has set the benchmark.
‘Many people will describe me as a multi-tasker, but I like to believe my secret to success is that I am able to do many things, but only one thing at a time,’ Juriana says.
‘This means I can give each task the full attention it needs, especially if it has to do with human emotions.’
Juriana recently stepped down as LifeLine Zululand Chairperson, however remains involved.
Her commitment to the board extends to training, mentoring, marketing and fund-raising activities, using her network connections to build relationships and garner support for the organisation.
Teaching
Growing up in Durban with her three sisters, Juriana has always been passionate about teaching and the youth.
‘I have faith in the youth and am passionate in my quest to do whatever I can to assist, support and shape their lives. I love what I do.’
In her role at Grantleigh Schools, Juriana feels her success comes from her belief and trust in God, her co-workers and the community that she serves as a teacher, leader and LifeLine volunteer.
As a teacher she shows understanding and treats each pupil as an individual and not just as another number in a class. She teaches with passion and love for the pupils.
As Head of Operations she promotes unity and teamwork, respect and professionalism, and values honesty and loyalty.
A role model to all women and an inspiration to all teachers, Juriana is a true leader who leads by example.
