Foetus found under bed

A CASE of illegal abortion has been opened by KwaMbonambi SAPS after a foetus was found under a bed in Nzalabantu near KwaMbonambi.

According to police reports the suspect became ill and was taken to Ngwelezana Hospital.

From the hospital she phoned a neighbour, asking her to remove and destroy an item in a plastic bag under her bed.

The neighbour reportedly noticed large blood stains on the floor of the suspect’s bedroom before seeing the foetus inside the plastic bag under the bed. The police were called and the foetus was taken to the Richards Bay mortuary.

Police officers have not yet charged the suspect but will do so once she has been discharged from the hospital.
