Career opportunities for Bambisanani pupils
Bambisanani pupils discover the opportunities that await them during the annual careers day.
PUPILS from the Bambisanani Community Learning Programme embarked on a voyage of discovery into the world of tertiary education during the annual careers day at Grantleigh School.
The event was invaluable in addressing the needs of the 300 Bambisanani pupils, who are provided with access to extra lessons in maths, science, English and life orientation three afternoons a week at the Titanium Learning Centre at Grantleigh.
Several presentations from various tertiary bodies, including the Umfolozi TVET College and Durban University of Technology, were offered.
Lecturers and students from the Health Sciences Department addressed the pupils on nursing, physiotherapy, dental technology, radiography and various other sectors.
Much information was given on bursaries and merit funding for those who gain results of 70% and above.
A number of representatives from various leading companies in the area also shared information regarding workplace opportunities.
