Poor services delay housing development

Mtubatuba Ridge is housing for low and medium income brackets.

A PROPOSED residential development between the N2 and Mtubatuba has been deemed vital to address the area’s chronic housing shortage, yet progress is hampered by a lack of essential services.

Mtubatuba Ridge is set to provide much-needed employment opportunities, not only during construction but also permanent formal sector employment once amenities are up and running.

Housing for low and medium income brackets, a hotel with conference facilities, pre-primary and primary schools, as well as sports facilities will be included in the development.

While such a development has been identified as crucial for Mtubatuba, its progress is being hindered by a severe lack of water and sewage infrastructure, neither of which have been adequately maintained or improved.
