Lost Bible brings blessings
Losing his bible was the beginning of blessings for KwaDlangezwa pastor

WHEN Pastor Sipho Masondo lost his Bible three years ago, he never expected that the sad moment would bring him joy, friendship and unconditional love.
Troubled for losing his ‘spiritual weapon’, Masondo later received a call that his Bible had been found by one of the Mvuzemvuze Primary School’s teachers.
Stunned by the actions of the good Samaritan, he blessed the school and soon initiated weekly prayer sessions – assisting those who need spiritual guidance.
Even though the unemployed Masondo struggles to make ends meet, preaching and assisting those in need proved to be fulfilling.
Masondo lives in a one room house with his wife and three children.
‘I just wanted to help with spiritual healing, especially because our region is troubled with drug and substance abuse. My living condition did not matter, as long as I can extend a hand to others,’ he says.
For years Masondo has been struggling to obtain employment, despite holding a Doctorate degree in education and a postgraduate diploma in Theology from Stellenbosch University.
‘Preaching the word is my calling, to educate people about God.’
Receiving the gift
The pastor’s fortunes changed last week when the loving Mvuzevuze School educators surprised him with material to extend his house.
Led by the principal, the school donated blocks, windows and frames, cement, floor and roof tiles, paint, doors and a cash contribution.
‘We could see he was struggling and yet he never asked for help. After what he had given us over the years we came together and made contributions to assist the family,’ said Principal Lungile Mngoma.
‘The pastor has made a huge difference in our school. We are blessed to have found him.’
Work to extend the house has already started and the builders paid.
The pastor will soon live in a three bedroomed house with his family.
‘I thank the Lord for bringing these people to me. If I hadn’t lost my Bible this would not have happened, but then our Lord always plan his things,’ said the grateful pastor.
