Mphemba High School suspended pupils demand to return to classes immediately

SUSPENDED Grade 12 pupils from Mphemba High School in Nkandla have accused the school principal and teachers of being abusive’.

The pupils were suspended for failing to attend their classes.

The pupils demand to return to class immediately, claiming the school management has misused its power to abuse their rights to education.

Speaking to the Zululand Observer this week, a Grade 12 pupil, Nomfundo Ntuli (20), claimed she was forcefully removed from a classroom for not attending classes for a week.

‘I am supported by my grandmother and she failed to get money for me to continue schooling. When I came back after being assisted by my friend’s mother, the principal was abusive and asked me to leave without giving me an opportunity to explain,’ said Ntuli.

Another Grade 12 pupil, Nokwanda Dludla, said the school refused for her asccess to classes after she spent a week in hospital.

‘When I came back I was simply asked to leave,’ she said.

The pupils fear they are missing out on valuable class time as final exams draw near.
