ONCE again a smashing success, the annual Zululand’s Got Talent auditions took place on Tuesday, giving some of the finest talent in the region a chance to shine.

Auditions are open to anyone brave enough to enter, and made for a very engaging and entertaining evening at Dros at Tuzi Gazi Waterfront in Richards Bay.

Contestants

First to the stage was Stephan du Ploy with an acoustic rendition of Knocking on Heaven’s Door, followed by young spoken word poet Khathelo Mdambu.

Nanini Basi blew the crowd away with her powerful performance of Halle Bailey’s In Your Hands, while Charmaine and DJ CeeJay brought some ‘gees’ to the event.

Finishing off, Ezelle Johnstone ABBA’d away with Mama Mia, and last-minute entrant Jannie Paige surprised all with his version of Knocking on Heaven’s Door.

Each entrant had the chance to perform a second time while judges made their decisions, before the finalists were announced:

Each of the three finalists will have the chance to battle it out at the Zululand’s Got Talent finals, taking place at this year’s Dolosfees from 24-26 September.
