The pen is mightier than the sword

Businessman donates pens to a local high school

A PEN is a mighty weapon to fight poverty and inequality.

These were sentiments expressed by Mlungisi Mkhwanazi (36) of Eminence Printing when donating hundreds of pens to Grade 12 pupils at Sunnydale High School in eShowe last week.

This kind gesture was to encourage pupils to work hard to pass their examinations, and to offer them support as a local business.

For Mkhwanazi, these pens were a symbol that marks the beginning of a bright future for these soon to be tertiary students.

‘As people in business it is important to always encourage young people especially those in matric.

‘This visit was not just about pens, but it was also to show them that the future is brighter for them,’ said Mkhwanazi.

‘Education is important, and our children need to know it’s the only thing that can guarantee a bright future for them.

‘Education is the weapon they can use to fight any poverty and inequality,’
