Partner violence campaign roll-out
The IPV programme has been rolled out this month and includes an awareness talk as well as onsite HIV Counselling and Testing

LIFELINE Zululand is promoting their Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) programme with their community mobilisation of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.
Through funding from the Aids Foundation SA (AFSA), the IPV programme has been rolled out this month and includes an awareness talk as well as onsite HIV Counselling and Testing (HCT).
According to LifeLine Zululand Director Michelle Jewlal the organisation seeks to raise awareness on the impact of intimate partner violence (IPV), as a contributing factor towards HIV prevalence and highlighting community resources available for psycho-social support and counselling services.
‘We invite organisations, small business, church groups, luncheon clubs and any community groups to participate in the campaign during December.
‘Counsellors from LifeLine Zululand will be available to facilitate the awareness sessions for groups of 15 to 20 people per session onsite or at your work place for employees who wish to perform HCT.
‘Employees who are HIV positive may be referred to the organisation’s internal employee assistance programme or to the nearest medical facility or clinic for further medical treatment and ongoing support.’
This is a free service and is limited to uMhlathuze; Mbonambi and Mtunzini areas and only available for December, to reserve a booking contact the LifeLine offices on 035 7892472.
