District honours local creative writers
King Cetshwayo District Municipality on Friday hosted the district's authors book launch at the Aquadene library
RECOGNISING creative writers who have successfully published books within the region, King Cetshwayo District Municipality on Friday hosted the district’s authors book launch at the Aquadene library.
As some of these books are being utilised in universities, schools and on radio stations, 23 local creative writers were provided with a platform to showcase their talents and promote their books during the event, while being acknowledged for their contributions in promoting a culture of reading.
City of uMhlathuze librarian Zinhle Buthelezi congratulated all the authors and invited them to utilise the library to showcase their work and encourage locals to establish book clubs in their communities to promote literacy and encourage reading.
‘We are so proud to have books written by local authors on the shelves of our community libraries and encourage more community members to take advantage of the services in all our public libraries.’
