Police seek next of kin of deceased person

The deceased was found at the intersection of the R34 and P230 late last month

EMPANGENI SAPS are looking for the next of kin of a deceased person who was found at the intersection of the R34 and P230 late last month.

Police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said a community member had discovered the body, which had a gunshot wound to the head.

‘The deceased was found naked and a bottle green jacket and pants were spotted next to his body.

‘He is estimated to be 40 years of age and is dark in complexion with a beard.

‘He is about 1.6m tall. The deceased is unknown in the area,’ Mdlalose said.

Police have urged anyone with information regarding the deceased to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Sikhumbuzo Mabaso on 082 2272058 or 078 5072182 or to call the crime stop number: 0800 10111.
