After the suspect was taken to the police station, a remote jamming device was found near the scene

RESIDENTS in an Empangeni complex sprang into action and carried out a citizen’s arrest after an intruder was found lurking on the premises.

He was also seen doing the same the day before.

After a resident alerted her neighbour about it, a chase ensued.

The suspect escaped on foot, but was later caught by a resident close to the scene.

The Empangeni police were notified, as was the Empangeni CPF.

According to the CPF, the man was wanted for house burglaries and remote jamming.

After the suspect was taken to the police station, a remote jamming device was found near the scene by residents.

Because no official statements were submitted by any residents, police released the suspect later in the day.
