Ladies invited to free webinar today

Rio Tinto and RBM presents free live webinar on Women Inclusion and Empowerment

Join Rio Tinto and RBM today (31 August 2020) between 1pm and 3pm for a free live webinar focusing on Women Inclusion and Empowerment.

RBM has been named Top Employer for the past few years. This can be attributed to the successful inclusion and empowerment of women in the company.

Join them for a live webinar to hear and engage, with speakers Pam Pereira, Thobile Dlamini, Georgie Bezette, Bayanda Mncwango and Cathy Mohlahlana.

In the 26 years of our democracy, South Africa has made progress in advancing women’s rights, in broadening women’s access to education, in the provision of healthcare and social support to women, and in improving their participation in the economy. However, we know that at the same time, the lived reality for millions of South African women is very different to the promise contained in our Constitution.

The South African private sector has played a large part in driving transformation and the mining industry has implemented many programmes that promote the advancement of women, however, there is still a long way to go to ensure that women not only have a seat at the table but have a voice.

The webinar will shine a light on what RBM has done successfully, what programmes are in place to ensure women are included at all levels and empowered to participate in decision-making, and what lessons we can take from our global counterparts to ensure true equality in the business.
