Melomed Private Hospital held a successful fundraiser last week in support of the local cancer association.
Normally, the hospital hosts an annual Cuppa for Cansa tea, but owing to Covid-19, plans had to be adjusted. Cupcakes, donuts and hot refreshments were sold in the hospital foyer, which was beautifully decorated in pink in commemoration of Breast Cancer Month.
Cupcakes sold like ‘hot cakes’ and many patrons also had their hair sprayed by the local Cansa volunteers.
‘We would like to thank our donors for graciously donating towards this worthy cause. We would also like to thank our staff at Melomed Richards Bay and members of the public for their participation,’ Catering Manager Ismail Motala told the ZO.
The event raised a total of R2000, which will be handed over to the local CANSA (Cancer Association of South Africa branch).
