J&J Timber Supplies has a vacancy available for a Harvesting and Logistics Manager.

This position is based at their Busby Sawmill operation in Panbult and broadly entails the following:  

• Monthly compilation of delivery plan
• Ensure complete document trail per load (tickets, delivery notes, permits etc)
• Ensure ‘Pre Harvest’ agreements are completed before contractor harvesting commences
• Check and report on harvesting productivities
• Logistics planning for next day
• Arranging of outside transport if and when necessary
• Ensure optimal utilisation of own fleet
• Maintenance planning
• Costing vs actual spend
• Harvesting optimisation (own operations as well as contractor teams)
• Liaison with Busby Mill management

  Position requirements:  

• 5 years’ experience in harvesting of gum, pine and wattle plantations
• 5 years’ experience in transport and logistics management
• Mechanical knowledge
• Driver’s licence
• Good communication skills – English, Afrikaans and Zulu
• Flexible approach to working hours
• Be willing to relocate (company housing is available)
