Annual Senior Citizens Parliament held in Zululand District Municipality

2021 Senior Citizens Parliament and the 2021 celebration of senior citizens

As part of the Legislature’s strategy to involve members of the public in its legislative processes, the KwaZulu Natal Legislature will hold its annual Senior Citizens Parliament in Zululand District Municipality.

Senior Citizens Parliament will be held as follows:

  • Dates : 29 to 30 September and the Provincial Celebration on 1 October 2021
  • Time : 10h00
  • Hybrid Format (in person and virtual)
The theme for this year’s Senior Citizens Parliament is, “The Year of Charlotte Maxeke: Digital Equity For All Ages”.

The Senior Citizens Parliament will be followed by the celebration of the International Day for Senior Citizens on 1 October in the same venue at the same time.

The Senior Citizens’ Parliament is part of the Legislature’s strategy to broaden public participation in the oversight and law-making processes of the Legislature and to enhance participatory democracy in KwaZulu-Natal.
