Disaster management deployed after Nkandla storm

After the recent heavy rains and winds left a trail of devastation, including houses destroyed in Emanzamnyama, Nkandla, Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma has ensured interventions are prioritised.

National and provincial teams from the Department of Human Settlements will begin the verification process on Sunday during which the needs of the most vulnerable households will be assessed.

According to a statement from the MEC’s office, Minister of Human Settlements Thembi Nkadimeng has set up a satellite office in KZN and has deployed a disaster management team.
