How you can support Richards Bay back-to-school stationery drive
Local charity Walk in Faith calls on community to assist impoverished schoolchildren

RICHARDS Bay charity organisation Walk in Faith is working round the clock to ensure all beneficiaries on their Back-to-School drive have their stationery supplies when school opens on Wednesday.
The annual stationery collection has been running for several years, and the number of primary and high school beneficiaries continues to increase as many families and households grapple with the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and soaring cost of living.

Walk in Faith founder Merinda Ackerman said they need to rally up the last supplies to meet their target.
“We have provided a list of stationery items, and community members and businesses can also make financial donations towards the purchase of items,” said Ackerman.
“In addition, our school feeding scheme, which ensures children receive a healthy and nutritious meal at school, is also set to commence.
“We welcome donors to pledge their ongoing support as we provide lunch daily to learners from various schools.
“Pupils rely on these meals as many of them hail from homes where their parents are unemployed or earning a very low income and cannot afford groceries,” she said.
Donations are also welcome at R350 per pre-primary learner, R450 per primary learner and R850 per high school learner.
