WATCH: eNseleni quarry swimming issue far from over

Meetings were held between the Khoza Traditional Council and Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) last week

No amicable solution has yet been reached on the use of a disused quarry in eNseleni as a community swimming pool.

This despite meetings between the Khoza Traditional Council and Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) last Friday.

Speaking to the Zululand Observer, the Induna from the Mayeni area, Msizeni Dube, confirmed that the traditional council had met with departmental officials, but that nothing from the meeting was promising.

Dube said the DMRE officials indicated they would refer to their records as to what was agreed upon with the mining company that was given the rights to operate in the area during the mining period.
