Contractor appointed for Mtubatuba potholes

A contractor will be introduced to the public on Tuesday, 4 April

Mtubatuba Municipality has announced that a contractor will be introduced to the public on Tuesday, 4 April, after being appointed to fix the potholes in KwaMsane township.

Mayor Mxolisi Mthethwa will be in KwaMsane on Tuesday to conduct an oversight visit on one of the roads being tarred, and will introduce a contractor who will fix the potholes in the ward.

By last week, work on fixing the township’s potholes had seemingly got under way.

Several roads in the ward are punctured with potholes; a concern for local road users, and an issue Ward Councillor Mfana Gumede said was part of the agenda at a recent community meeting.

Meanwhile, Gumede said at that recent meeting, Mthethwa and his leadership colleagues, the municipal manager and council speaker, were a no-show, which prompted the attendees to appoint a task team that would approach these leaders and request them to be present at the ward’s community meetings.

“The task team met with the mayor last Thursday and he said he would relay our message to the MM and speaker, and would then decide on which date they would meet with the Ward 6 community,” said Gumede.
