Implementation of prepaid water meters for city residents

It is hoped the new system will improve water management and reduce losses

The City of uMhlathuze is forging ahead with the installation of prepaid water meters.

The municipality plans to replace the existing water meters with the prepaid ones over the next few financial years – with between 3 000 and 3 500 meters expected to be installed each year.

It is hoped the new system will improve water management and reduce losses.
