The matter was also previously postponed at Mtubatuba Regional Court for sentencing.
Bandile Simphiwe Dube (19) pleaded guilty to culpable homicide, while his co-accused, a 16-year-old minor who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH).
The two accused were arrested last year following the fatal stabbing of Khumbulani Mgabhi (18) and his 17-year-old friend who was hospitalised and discharged a few days later.
Khumbulani succumbed to a stab wound to the neck on the day of the stabbing.
It is alleged that the stabbings were the result of suspected bullying after one of the accused had allegedly instructed the victims to polish his shoes, which was not done.
