eSikhaleni NPO to host men’s conference

The NPO will this Sunday host a men’s conference in Mandlankala

Seeing women coming together for positive change sparked ‘jealousy’ within Michael Zuma, founder of Siyaqaphela Ubumbano Lwamadoda an NPO based in Madlankala reserve.

The NPO will this Sunday host a men’s conference aimed at education and sharing ideas, while simultaneously developing young boys into responsible men of society.

The function will be heldeSikhalem at Madlankala community hall, and will address societal issues faced by both the older men and young adult males.

Various speakers from different walks of life are included in the event line-up, and includes, ex-offenders and current offenders who will speak about the dangers of committing crime and the life of a convict in prison.

“We have also invited a special guest, Dr Nkonzoyakhe Donda, who is chief whip of council at the City of uMhlathuze, and MM Khoza, leader of a men’s forum organisation from eSikhaleni,” said Zuma.

Countless topical issues will be on the agenda for the day, including crime, drug and alcohol abuse, and gender-based violence.

“We want all attendees to get first-hand experience of how men should carry themselves in society – with respect as is expected. Men usually only meet in taverns which doesn’t necessarily positively affect them,” said Zuma.
