Local cane farmers welcome recent rainfall

Despite weathermen forecasting the Zululand region to be under rainfall only on Sunday and Monday, the most recent bout of heavy rains lashed the area from Sunday night, continuing until Wednesday.

The slow-moving weather system brought with it isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday, and is said to have been exacerbated by a cut-off low.
