WATCH: Mass injuries in highway head-on collision

A number of people were injured when a car and a taxi collided head-on at the Melomed intersection on the John Ross highway earlier this afternoon.

According to emergency services on scene, a speeding truck forced the taxi off the road and into the oncoming vehicle.

The taxi was carrying 16 persons, and injuries included one critical patient, seven less serious and nine slightly injured.
