Local Government Elections force change to November Sassa payment dates

Sassa announces revised dates for November grant payments - see the new schedule here

TO ensure the efficient distribution of social grants during the election period, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has revised its November payment schedule.

This follows extensive consultations between Sassa and relevant stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption.

November Sassa payment dates

  • Older persons grant: Friday, 30 October
  • Disability grant: Monday, 2 November
  • Children’s grants: Tuesday, 3 November
  • Fourth-day payment: Thursday, 5 November

The agency reminds beneficiaries whose grants are under review to respond to official Sassa communication and attend review appointments as requested.

“The fourth-day payment on 5 November is specifically intended for beneficiaries whose grants fall within the review process,” said the agency, adding that beneficiaries should not rush to Sassa offices unnecessarily, as grant payments will be processed according to the schedule.
