WATCH: Hyenas caught on camera in St Lucia

A pair of juvenile hyenas - is not the norm

St Lucia may be renowned for its resident wildlife gracing the streets of the small town on a daily – and nightly – basis, but recent sightings of two juvenile hyenas have set social media alight.

The most recent sighting was captured on video earlier this week, with the young animals seen wandering around one of the roads in town adjacent to a greenbelt, sniffing for food, and generally enjoying the night.

While the residents of and visitors to St Lucia are accustomed to the hippos that regularly wander around the town at night, sightings of such elusive creatures as hyenas – particularly a pair of juveniles – is not the norm, and special indeed.
