Daring dance moves planned for Zululand championships

The talented and graceful dancers from 11 districts will battle it out

Zululand’s top ballroom and Latin American dancers are heading to Ulundi’s Masibumbane High School on Saturday, 19 August for the Zululand Championship 2023 crown.

The talented and graceful dancers from 11 districts will battle it out for the best in the Unyawo lwempungushe.

Zululand Championship organiser Meluleki Tibane said this event not only showcases the captivating beauty of these dance styles, but also celebrates the immense dedication and skills of participating dancers and coaches.

“The day will see dancers of all ages and backgrounds taking part in the competition as they waltz, tango, cha-cha-cha, rumba, and samba their way across the stage,” said Tibane.

Categories include School Beginners, Star Grade, Rising Star, Championship, and Professional.

Judges for the day are experts in the field, among them Richan Nhlapho, Zonke Nzimande, Bonginkosi Dlamini, and Sibusiso Simelane – all faced with the challenging task of assessing every step, spin, and lift.
