WATCH: Water interruption after pipe burst in Richards Bay

The main water line burst on Tuesday evening forcing city plumbers to stop the pumps at the Water Treatment Works

Some parts of Richards Bay are experiencing low water pressure, while others are without water owing to a burst pipe near Cambridge Place in Arboretum.

uMhlathuze Municipality has dispatched water tankers this (Wednesday) morning to affected areas as repairs are underway.

The main water line burst on Tuesday evening forcing city plumbers to stop the pumps at the Water Treatment Works in order to isolate the line.

Ward 3 councillor, Henning de Wet said the pipe has not yet been exposed and repair work to this section has not begun.

“Unfortunately, there is no estimated time for repairs and for the supply to be restored available as yet,” said de Wet.
