Help the ZO expose the ‘hole’ truth to get action

Referring to the potholes on Bayvue Boulevard between the SPCA access road and the turn-off to Bay Hall, one resident said poor workmanship was the real problem.

The Zululand Observer is on a drive to rid the region of its worst potholes to help keep motorists safe.

We need YOUR help in locating the worst potholes.

As potholes are repaired, the ZO will cross them off the offenders’ list and add new problem areas on a weekly basis.

Higgs Road

Since the launch of this call to action campaign, we have received numerous photographs of potholes on Empangeni’s Fern Street, Nerina Road, Kerk Street, Higgs Road and Baines Road, and on Bayvue Boulevard in Richards Bay.

Referring to the potholes on Bayvue Boulevard between the SPCA access road and the turn-off to Bay Hall, one resident said poor workmanship was the real problem.

“These are not the worst potholes, but they tell the story of feeble repairs that don’t even last a week. Summer is here and cars by the thousands will drive [on this road], dodging potholes and swerving dangerously.

“In a matter of days, the tar lifts and when it rains the sand runs onto the road, making it even more dangerous.

“A band-aid is no good – this needs a proper road repair!”

Most of the potholes photographed have been repaired more than once already.
