Eskom exempts Ulundi from load-shedding for Prince Buthelezi’s State funeral

The exemption is from 5pm Friday to 6pm Saturday

ESKOM this afternoon (Friday) announced it would exempt Ulundi Municipality from load-shedding to accommodate the category 1 State funeral of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, taking place tomorrow.

The exemption will be effective 5pm today until 6pm tomorrow.

“The power system is highly constrained, and Eskom will recover the load from other areas within the affected area, as required, to compensate for the exclusion,” said the power utility.

“It is not a continuous exclusion and is granted on the specific day and time as per the schedule and area affected.

“Eskom urges customers in Ulundi and Nongoma to treat all electricity installations as live during this period.”
