In a collaborative effort to address GBV, child abuse and drug abuse, a local NPO and church are hosting a sports event and prayer on Saturday, 14 October at KwaDlangezwa community hall and sport ground.
Impumelelo Yabangcwele Church in Zion under Archbishop Dludla, and the Linzwa Foundation believe this could be influential in shaping the youth and fighting crimes that impacts communities.
Outlining the day’s events, Reverend Mandla Mabuyakhulu said, “Youth will participate in various activities, including soccer, netball, debating and music. Our special guest will address the youth on challenges they face, including teenage pregnancy and intoxication. We intend to have this event annually and to be actively involved in building our communities.”
Lindiwe Dube from NPO the Linzwa Foundation commented: “We believe a lot has been done to fight GBV and child abuse, but the cases are still increasing.
“We feel we have not done enough and we strongly believe prayer might assist in giving a solution to this problem. This is the reason for the collaboration.”
