An abandoned baby was found in the backyard of a Sundumbili home this (Saturday) afternoon.
The infant was discovered by the homeowner while walking in the yard.
IPSS Medical Rescue who responded to the scene said the newborn is estimated to be under a week old.
“The baby appeared to be in good health and was taken to a nearby clinic for further assessment,” IPSS said.
Sundumbili SAPS were on scene and a case of child abandonment is being investigated.
