Brace for bad weather

SAWS has today (Monday) issued a yellow level 2 warning

Severe thunderstorms are expected in most parts of KZN tomorrow (Tuesday).

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has today (Monday) issued a yellow level 2 warning valid from 10am to 11pm on Tuesday.

This is the latest in a series of heavy weather warnings for the Zululand region, and comes as beach restoration efforts are about to get under way at Alkantstrand.

Heavy downpours leading to localised flooding, hail and severe lightning could hit parts of the region, including Hluhluwe, Big Five Hlabisa, Jozini, uMhlathuze, Mtubatuba, uMlalazi and Mandeni.

Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid travelling on bridges and roads in low-lying areas as these may be susceptible to flooding.

Residents are also being urged to avoid outdoor activities during this period.
