‘Suka Sambe – leaving no one behind’.

After learning about industrial theatre, a group of artists from around King Cetshwayo District ended their week-long training by composing a theme song for the KZN Department Sport, Arts and Culture’s new Suka Sambe drive.

Despite their exhaustion, the group spent their final day of camp writing and arranging the song, as well as coming up with a catchy hook and dance.

The hope is that it will be used to welcome MEC Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba when he visits the region.

This ward-based intervention programme driven by the department is already gaining momentum, unearthing, developing and promoting local talent in sport and the arts.
