Richards Bay Festival around the corner

There really is no reason to miss this festive season extravaganza

Shop for the perfect Christmas gifts and enjoy a festive atmosphere at the Richards Bay Festival this month.

Apart from the many market stalls, with entertainment by the likes of Angus, and legendary radio personality Dave Guselli MC for the day, there really is no reason to miss this festive season extravaganza.

Hosts behind the day/night festival are accomplished market vendors Demian and Wendy van Loggerenberg, who brought you the Market Meander, Imvubu Night Market and many more.

The Richards Bay Festival is the result of expanding and rebranding, and promises to be a highlight on the festive season events calendar.

The event will be held on Saturday, 16 December from 10am to 9pm at Richards Bay Rugby Club.

“We didn’t want to establish a music festival with a market as an addition; our focus has always been a market first, with music and entertainment as an addition,” said Wendy.

“Having been vendors at markets for years, we understand the importance of a platform from which one can sell.

“Not everyone has an online store or shop. As with the Meander, the vendors, and creating an opportunity for them, are our priority.”

Community NPOs are invited to take a table at the market, at no charge, to give them a platform to promote their causes.

NSRI, SPCA, Cansa, Hospice and Ezemvelo are all booked already, so support them on the day.

A sneak peek at what festival-goers can expect:
• Over 120 stalls (already booked)
• Food and confectionary galore
• From jewellery, bags to clothes, there are too many items on sale to mention
• Craft beer
• Live music by Angus (7 – 8.30pm)
• Pony/horse rides (10am – 4pm)
• Bubble house and bouncy bubble house; foam pit and jumping castle.

The stage will also be available to any local up-and-coming musicians who would like to perform a few songs on the day.

To book an on-stage slot, contact Wendy on 076 0799445 or rbayfest@gmail.com

Tickets will be on sale at the gate on the day. Adults get in for R50, while children under 13 pay R20.
