Warrant of arrest issued against double murder suspect
His current whereabouts are unknown and a warrant of arrest was issued by the Melmoth Magistrate’s Court.
Melmoth SAPS has secured a warrant of arrest against Sibonelo Xulu (30) in connection with the murder of two cousins last month.
Xulu (30) of eSidakeni reserve under the oBuka Tribal Authority is believed to have been involved in the double murder of female cousins Nomvula and Thando Zulu, who were killed on Sunday, 19 November at their home in the Hawaii area.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said police believe Xulu entered the homestead and shot Nomvula (33) and Thando (20).
“Nomvula was declared dead at the scene and Thando died on her arrival at hospital. Xulu fled the area when he became aware that police were looking for him.
His current whereabouts are unknown and a warrant of arrest was issued by the Melmoth Magistrate’s Court.
“Melmoth detectives are now seeking the assistance of community members in locating Xulu. Anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact Sergeant Nzuza on 064 5406911, 035 4508000 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” said Gwala.
