Contractors appointed to deal with Jozini water problems
Mdaka introduced the contractors for the respective communities this week
The uMkhanyakude District Municipality has appointed a number of contractors to deal with water issues plaguing various wards in Jozini.
The residents of wards 1, 2, 7 and 20 all shared the sentiment of satisfaction as Mayor Siphile Mdaka announced at these respective areas, contractors who will work on water projects to ensure communities are supplied with the service.
The projects to be done at Ward 1 are the refurbishment of water schemes and water reticulation; at Ward 2, refurbishments and upgrades and new water reticulation; at Ward 7, new water reticulation at Emanqayini and Qondile villages; and at Ward 20, the refurbishment of all schemes and new water reticulation.
Mdaka introduced the contractors for the respective communities this week.
“We want all our communities to get potable water near the places where they reside,” said Mdaka.
He added that these water projects would also provide job opportunities for the community members of these areas.
Mdaka was accompanied by council members, municipal officials and representatives from uMngeni-uThukela Water when introducing the contractors.
