Brace for thunderstorms, heavy rain

Thunderstorms accompanied by strong, damaging winds and heavy rainfall are forecast

WHILE the SA Weather Service (SAWS) issued severe weather warnings for inland parts of northern KZN, other meteorologists say the whole province could be in for a deluge.

According to the Severe Weather and Information Centre SA (SWAICSA) Facebook page, strong to severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy downpours should be expected across KZN this afternoon (Wednesday), going into tomorrow.

A risk of flooding, as well as hail, excessive lightning and damaging winds are possible over the whole province as this system passes.

Residents are advised to take precautions to keep family, pets, livestock and vehicles safe should the approaching weather look ominous.

Already, residents of areas not issued with a weather warning have reported heavy rains and thunderstorms.
