More bad weather forecast for northern KZN

Zululanders should brace for another round of severe weather for this afternoon, going into tonight (Saturday).

This after the SA Weather Service this morning issued another level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms.

The warning is effective 2pm until 11pm today.

Areas within the Zululand region that are set to be affected include Hlabisa, Hluhluwe, Jozini, Mandeni, Mthonjaneni, Mtubatuba, Nkandla, Nongoma, Ulundi, uMhlabuyalingana, uMhlathuze and Pongola.

Severe thunderstorms with heavy rains, lightning and the possibility of hail can be expected across the affected region, according to SAWS.

Potential impacts:
• Localised damage to infrastructure, vehicles and livestock

• Localised flooding of susceptible roads

• Difficult driving conditions on both dirt roads and wet tar roads

• Possibility of road accidents owing to wet roads

• Large amounts of small hail
